EVA NEXUS DORC at Humanitas Sedes Sapientiae Turin

Our facility is equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art surgical instruments that are at our disposal for use. One such instrument that stands out is the new EVA NEXUS, the latest version of the EVA DORC that we have been utilizing for a number of years. The EVA NEXUS has undergone significant improvements, especially in its cataract version, encompassing all aspects of phacoemulsification.

The tips of the instrument have also been upgraded and now feature an innovative fluid control system that ensures precise regulation within the eye. Its performance is exceptional, making it not only state-of-the-art but also highly competitive in comparison to other machines available in the market. One notable feature of this instrument is its 4-piston pump, which functions differently from both peristaltic and venturi systems. In practice, the system functions more similar to a venturi pump, despite being a computer-controlled 4-piston pump.

In relation to vitrectomy, there have been remarkable advancements in the field, building upon the already remarkable performance levels achieved through the utilization of EVA. The NEXUS version has brought about enhancements in both trocars and micro-instruments used for surgical insertion into the eye. Currently, the company’s research is focused on the use of 41-gauge needles to introduce subretinal material with greater effectiveness. Considering the ever-evolving nature of this field, we can expect to witness the outcomes of this technological progress in the upcoming year.
